  • I am a native Albertan … I didn’t come from anywhere else, and I’m not going anywhere.

  • About my siblings … I don’t have any! I never wanted to be known as an “only child” because it would then be assumed that I was a spoiled brat!

  • I graduated from Calgary General Hospital School of Nursing in 1961. After working in a 19-bed hospital for two and a half years, I took on a new career as a full time wife, mother, and domestic engineer.

  • I am happily married to my best friend. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in May 2013, on a cruise ship in the Panama. We didn’t want a party, where guests are expected to say nice things about us, and show reams of old pictures.

  • We have two children; both have recently celebrated their 20th Wedding Anniversary (they were married three months apart. Our daughter and family (3 granddaughters) live on an island west of Seattle, Washington, and our son and family (1 granddaughter and 1 grandson) live three miles from us.

  • My husband retired in 2011 after 51 years as a Realtor. When we met in a central Alberta town, he was the telephone installer and repairman;  his work for 10 years. He is now an antique telephone collector and tractor restorer. He is the ‘paper and pencil’ guy in our home who has never had much fascination with computers.

  • We live in a rural area in the Foothills of the Canadian Rockies, in south-central Alberta. We downsized almost 20 years ago, and plan to live here until we need the Handi-Bus to take us to the city.

  • I no longer call myself a Christian (too many negative attitudes to the term) but I am a follower  of Jesus, who has asked me/us to love Him with all of my/our heart, soul, mind, and strength … and my/our neighbor as myself/ourselves. I know that He loves me and gave his life for me, so that I can have life everlasting. I am still a work in progress!

  • Denominations no longer have any room in my life! I want to keep learning what it means to live in my Heavenly Father's love.

  • I’m a person of WORDS … I love to talk (sometimes too much!) and I can type with all eight fingers and two thumbs. I tend to be “long-winded” at times!

  • I understand what it means to "put a sock in it!"
